The Ed Sullivan show, saw Beatles debut, then the JFK fiasco. Watch Bonanza and the other oldies Town had a square, just like Andy's Mayberry. Gramps had a 1955 red & white chevy in the barn, apple trees along the front property line at the dirt road. I got in trouble climbimg the tree biting apples m tossin' em on the ground............Man 61 years ago, still ya never forget hahaha
I’m about a year older than you but oddly (to me) don’t remember much about JFK getting shot, and even though we watched Ed Sullivan, I don’t remember seeing the Beatles. We did watch Bonanza, Mayberry RFD, I Love Lucy, and Lassie.
Wish I could have your Gramp’s ‘55 Chevy. One of my favorite cars!
Old School I just finished reading your book Hit The Road and I cannot thank you enough for putting out such wonderful information to help dispel a lot of the myths I've been finding on the internet. Such great information and I recommended the book to my recruiter also. My wife is about to start reading it and we hope within the next couple years she can join me as a team driver, once I get my feet firmly planted in this new career. Sincerely, thank you sir!
Hey JayP, thanks for your kind words!
I'm so glad you found it helpful!
That book is born out of my frustration with all the misleading and discouraging information about trucking found on the internet. Once you realize who it is pumping out all the nonsense, you then know they can't be trusted.
Carry on brother, and stay in touch. There's a host of good drivers here who are more than willing to help you along your journey.

I'm about 7 years older than you. When JFK was shot, I was in the 7th grade at a Catholic Grade school. Most of the nuns were crying and we were pulled from class to go to the church to pray. It was a sad day.

Spittin' out shotgun pellets, from the squirrels dad n gramps went out to shoot for dinner
