Knight Transportation’s school is in Phoenix. Not sure who else is located there that provides training.
With Knight, you are an employee the day you start training. Not sure the weekly pay while in school but it was $480/week when I went there in ‘21. It bumps up as soon as you go out with a trainer.
Knight is a great company to go with. There are several that have schools in Phoenix as well.
Yes, the market is tough in general right now, there is a surplus of drivers and applicants but its still doable.

I live near Tucson, AZ and I'm wanting to get a truck driving job, but without a CDL or the money to invest in CDL school or the desire to go further into debt, my only option is to find a company that pays for my CDL schooling and gives me a job right after this. When I look for truck driving companies in Tucson that will pay for CDL schooling, though, I can only find one so far- Roehl Transport. They rejected me because I live within commuting distance of Tucson but I don't live IN Tucson. :/ Everybody else that I've seen thus far only wants experienced drivers. It's the chicken and egg problem again.
