Keeping Distance

Now I know what it really means to make sure you have enough distance between you and the car in front you. Was driving south on Rte 17 in NJ around Paramus. A trucker either wasn't paying attention or was just plain stupid, honestly. I was in the middle lane (out of three) behind the truck and then decided to move to the left lane coz I realized the cars ahead were slowing down. Almost immediately after changing lanes all cars (in all lanes) came to a stop. The truck driver realized he couldn't cut in front of me and his only choice was break hard. He almost hit the car in front of him coz he was following too close, and his trailer kind of moved to the side.......that really scared the @$#$%%$# out of me.

Serah, this is probably the number one cause of accidents in an eighteen wheeler. Keeping a good following distance is the one most important thing for a rookie to get a good grip on as they start their career. That one practice will save your skin countless times during that first year of driving. When driving in the North East traffic it can be a real challenge too, because any extra space that you try and leave open between you and the vehicle ahead of you will be taken by the cars in the lanes beside you. They just sort of gravitate to the open space as if it were a vacuum.

Old School, it's a big magnet in the front of the truck that pulls all the four x's in.

It has to be true right? Did anyone see my video of the mini van hitting me? It was like I was the magnet and came straight towards me.

I'm telling you, Mass was the worst state to run in. There had to be a game that nobody asked me if I wanted to play. The 4 x's would actually see how close they could get to your front bumper, multiple times I would either have to hit the brake or if enough room veer over a bit to keep from hitting them. ( Which we all know is how it would have been reported and charged, My fault )wtf.gif This is why I got out of dedicated, all the M*******s! Drive safe, greasy side down
