Congrats Jolie. In the other forum winetaster and I have detailed our experiences in Roehl's cdl school. Andy is there now, but in a different location they have started using. If you go to Marshfield I can tell you you will do fine . They will work with anyone showing the are trying their best. They have an extremly low bounce rate. The one killer is they have an absolute no alcohol rule. If you break that one its no questions asked your done. Pretty easy to follow. I went through at 53 yrs young. I was there last november, winetaster was more recent, and Andy just finished up at the Appleton location. Have fun with it.

Thanks for the encouragement PJ! I have no idea which location I will be going to and have not idea how they make the decision where to send you...do you have any input? I am looking forward to getting it done ad Roehl seems to be the best option for me. I will look up your and winetaster's experiences...I have read some of Andy's since it is recent. No worries on the alcohol thing because I am close to being classified as a non-drinker. Can't say I would never have a glass of wine, but they are few and far between. Thanks for the heads up though!

It looks like we are on similar paths, my friend. :)

Starting a new career at 50 is trying at best. ( I have found)

Good luck, and keep us updated on Roehl.

I decided to got the private school route and start the 22nd.

AJ I really wanted to do the private school route but it just couldn't happen, so I am going to go and give it my all with Roehl. They are really who I wanted to work for even if I went to a private school so this may just be meant to be. Good luck and I look forward to hear how things go for you!

Thanks for all of the great quotes Mikki! Things are getting weird at work and our top producer in the company has decided he has had enough and is leaving to start his own brokerage. I know a lot of his team members will be leaving when he does, an my boss moved to Columbus OH last week, so our branch is going to be a ghost town. It just seems like the right time. I will let you now how things go and if the 10-15 days wit the trainer is sufficient when I am done!!!! shocked.png Feel free to email me anytime!

Woo-HOO, Jolie!!!! I am SO excited for you! This is monumental. This is very exciting! Just get behind that wheel every single solitary chance you get. Be the first to volunteer this and that, be the first to try new stuff, always go hands-on whenever you get the opportunity. Make a few boo-boos cuz you will, just learn with as much enthusiasm as possible (without coming across as false), and embrace this. Be fearless as you already have been.

And go-go-GO!

That is my plan MG! I have always worked best when in a male dominated work environment and think this will be a wonderful move for me. I got my 2 year medical card today and plan to get my permit Monday or Tuesday. Once I have both of those items I can get scheduled in to a class start date. I will let you know how things go and can't wait to find out where you decide to land!thank-you.gif

Jolie, their training is too notch. They will make sure you are ready. You need to be mentally prepared to be pushed outside your comfort zone. Fast learners succeed.

Nobody is really completely ready for this when they receive that first set of keys, but the winners just keep at it until they can handle it. I still learn and develop my truck driving skills everyday. This is a career in which you never can relax in the fact that you know it all.

Congrats! Roehl is a great choice to get into this industry with competence and safety. And, it's a good company to stay with if you so choose. Good luck to ya!
