Hello truckers,

I will be taking my class a CDL test next Tuesday, and I am starting to get nervous but I will be okay I just got to keep reminding myself it's just the skills that I have learned and put everything else out of my mind I'm going to go to the school tomorrow to watch a few other people taking their test I don't know if it'll do any good but it can't hurt. I would let everybody know how it goes and Brett thanks a million for this website!!!!!!!

CDL:

Commercial Driver's License (CDL)

A CDL is required to drive any of the following vehicles:

  • Any combination of vehicles with a gross combined weight rating (GCWR) of 26,001 or more pounds, providing the gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of the vehicle being towed is in excess of 10,000 pounds.
  • Any single vehicle with a GVWR of 26,001 or more pounds, or any such vehicle towing another not in excess of 10,000 pounds.
  • Any vehicle, regardless of size, designed to transport 16 or more persons, including the driver.
  • Any vehicle required by federal regulations to be placarded while transporting hazardous materials.

Watching others test out is definitely one of the best things you can do for yourself. Make sure you try to chat with the students after they took the test, maybe they can give you a few pointers.

I'll tell you what, putting it out of your mind is going to be the hardest thing you'll ever try and do. I mean it's what you've been going to school for, for weeks now. Instead of trying to do that just keep reviewing things, like the pretrip! Have that memorized like a script that way you can just breeze through it. The driving skills you already have and there's not much chance of you improving those on the next few days beyond how your already doing. Just remember, you know how to drive the truck so don't put to much emphasis on that part. You are your own worst enemy when it comes to this test so as long as you don't sike yourself out you'll do just fine and be holding that little piece of paper in the end! Good luck
