Phil we have some great stuff on blood pressure in our trucker's wiki. We have our main page on blood pressure which covers the general requirements for the DOT physical and then we have a page dedicated to hypertension (high blood pressure) which includes information on the various stages of hypertension, the regulations regarding medications you can take to control it, along with tips for lowering your blood pressure over the short term and the long term.

DOT:

Department Of Transportation

A department of the federal executive branch responsible for the national highways and for railroad and airline safety. It also manages Amtrak, the national railroad system, and the Coast Guard.

State and Federal DOT Officers are responsible for commercial vehicle enforcement. "The truck police" you could call them.

Hypertension:

Abnormally high blood pressure.

The National Institutes of Health (a Government Agency) has a DASH* Diet. It's very healthy on its own, and has been clinically proven to lower blood pressure. Nothing strange, just lots of veggies. It includes meat servings, too.

*Dietary Approaches to Stop Hypertension

Hypertension:

Abnormally high blood pressure.
