So excited to get a job offer at Schnieder National, have a start date and everything. I have about 8 months of trucking experience. The lady told me that along with urine testing, they also do hair follicle testing. The hair test kind of worries me because back in November of 2014 I got hurt and went to the E.R. They gave me a Hydrocodone for the pain and a few muscle relaxers. I still have all the paperwork from that incident. I'm just wondering if this would show up on the hair test that is scheduled on the 9th of February. And if it did show, what is Schneider 's stance on that particular issue, would they let it go because it was prescribed, or would they not hire me? If anyone works at or has worked at Schneider please help me out, thanks in advance.

I would tell your recruiter asap. I'm getting my truck in the am. Completed Orientation last week. So far Schneider has come thru on everything they promised. Good luck.

Congrats!!!! on the job offer at Schnieder National. I signed my training contract with them on the first and started school on Monday. Should leave up to Green Bay, WI for orientation about mid next month. About the hair test, if it was just a one time thing they admin'd in the ER during your visit, it's not likely that it would show up. Hair test more so will pick up on drug use over time. But to be honest, you never really know. As Steve said, just let the recruiter know about it as well as who ever admins your hair test so they can document it. If anything pop's up, you have the paper work. No worries. btw, they shaved my dang arms.. lol hairs are just starting to grow back -_- GL Duke!!! See you out there!!

Yeah, if you have the paperwork you'll be fine. I've recently heard of a company that told a driver he had to wait 30 days before he could drive after coming off of a narcotic prescription. But a prescribed medication with proper paperwork from a couple of months ago should be no concern. Let them know up front like the others recommended and keep that paperwork close by.

Definitely take copies of the ER paperwork with you. If you cannot FIND THEM - go to the hospital you went to and get copies from your file - and BRING THEM WITH YOU.

I was sent home during my orientation at Prime because I had been prescribed a pain killer during an ER visit (didn't go home but had to sit out for 16 days) . . . it's part of a 30 day "no drive" rule by the feds after using certain drugs that are "narcotic" . . . shouldn't effect your employment, though, especially since you have the paperwork to back up your story . . .
