I am offended by people being offended all the time. Therefore, y'all need to stop being offended so that I can stop being offended over you being offended.

He's just fighting the good fight. How else could this world control the population if we didn't get really mad at each other about religion?

I was going to say something about the intolerance of certain sects of a middle eastern religion - but I do enough of that on FB. I keep my stuff on here, about trucking.

There's was a guy not too long ago - that was asking about how to get to church on the road. He got many very good suggestions about how to pull that off.

I wonder the same things about trying to get to A.A. Meetings on the road - but I'm resourceful - I'll figure it out.

That's easy. You'd have powerful nations invading other puny tribe states in the name of democracy, forcing the better way of life upon them, so that they can be equipped to make better decisions for themselves.

Or, you can have parents that refuse to vaccinate their kids, because they wanna exercise their own 'right' to not vaccinate, and because they're afraid their kids will get down syndrome.

Or... well, fill in the blank with any hot button issue that you could blow out of proportion and that will have catastrophic end results on the continuance of the human race.

Online meetings never did anything for me - though they work for some people.

When I was out on tour, I usually managed to find a meeting near the gig, and ran over between load-in/sound-check and gig time. Off days, I always managed to find one - and find a ride. Pretty much every "GSO" has a web page, with an online "Where & When".

Don't expect to have much time on a 10 hour, to get to one - but on a "34 reset", I'm sure where there's a will, there's a way (can you say LINE 5? I knew you could - smile.gif

I read the OP's post, saw there was three pages of replies, and started making popcorn and fixing a drink. What gives? No fireworks and hurt feelings? Well, since I'm all ready for a fight I might as well turn on Maury and see who the baby daddy is.

Sorry man, I looked all over through the constitution and bill of rights and just could not find any place where it said you could not get your feelings hurt or be offended. I hope you are not offended by that.sorry.gif

Ahh screw it, You can be offended, I don't give a hoot. Used to be a man would grow a pair and deal with it, not whine on the internet or even to friends and family.

I am a 66 year old atheist, who is very annoyed that the Christian Chapels around the country don't include any other faiths. I am quite sure that drivers who are Jewish, Islamic, Buddhist, and atheist must feel pretty left out. However, when it comes to atheism the way people react to me makes me feel almost like a traitor to the country. I served in the Air Force for 8 years, and when I told people that I am an atheist, and have been one since I was 15 years old, they act like I was the one who planned the attack on Pearl Harbor. Some of these people actually believe that I worship the devil. When only people who believe in God believe in the devil. I have always wanted to believe that discrimination was not being taught in society today, but ministers still teach believers that if a person does not believe in God, then that person is evil. My wife has loved me for all of our 37 years of marriage. Why can't people just let others be themselves without insulting them.

Holy %$#@, lol. I can understand how some atheist feel out there when around some people who seem really dogmatic and political about their beliefs. Some of the things that new believers(Christians) say even dumbfound the ones who have done seminary or are well studied. The guys here are right do not let it bother you, plus most hard core atheist have learned to not show an elitist attitude which represents atheism as the anti-christian/judeo religion. Understand allot of people need their faith to deal with everyday problems or even addictions. Most things about religion in this country are positive, even today with the rise of modern puritans who seem holier than thou and want to purge everyone.

I personally am not an atheist since the verdict is out and it seems to be the denial of what they claim does not exist. I have been an theist then a deist and then a pantheist. Now if I had to take a term it would be a Pantheist by way of science, in other words I see the universe in an alchemical way without superstitions. Crazy huh. I look at all religion, beliefs, philosophies and disciplines of all humans and see the struggle across the board that man wishes to reflect on self and be a better person for the most part. You are seeing the bad side to it all most likely. What if the guy who wanted to tell you about Jesus instead wanted to rob you to go get his fix? The obnoxious Christian is the one you should be grateful is trying to reflect on rights and wrongs even if he or she seems politically motivated. Most prayers I can still say Amen to, because I can agree with the human struggle. I hope you find others out there you can relate to , I really do. I see what you see, it does not seem rational sometimes, but how many things do.

I know I wont be be talking politics or religion with my trainer worth what teams I like. LOL
