I want to try Prime but smoked the other day. I don't care to wait 30 days, but a hair follicle test would bust my bubble and the DOT would probably pull my class A's?

DOT:

Department Of Transportation

A department of the federal executive branch responsible for the national highways and for railroad and airline safety. It also manages Amtrak, the national railroad system, and the Coast Guard.

State and Federal DOT Officers are responsible for commercial vehicle enforcement. "The truck police" you could call them.

Apparently you didn't want to go to prime that much if you smoked the other day :)

Please don't apply. Obviously you lack self control. The life's of innocent people are in jeopardy behind the wheel of a 80000 pound missle and you can't control the urge to get high. I work for Prime and can tell you they are serious on there drug policy. I was hired in January and so far have had 3 random drug tests. Get clean grow up and use better judgement.

I smoked on and off for a week when my buddy from Seattle sent me some in the mail. But I'm not a reg smoker so I wasn't worried. I knew it wouldn't show up in urine BC it had been a couple weeks. As far as hair goes, it takes a normal smoker smoking often to show up. Weed has a hard time bonding to your hair to even show up that way. BTW I went through 2 cycles of hair and urine test to get hired on with my company. Buuut, take this at your own risk I did enough research that I felt confident moving forward without screwing myself. Again,I hadn't smoked in ages before hand and still don't.

Wow. This keeps getting worse. You are abusing drugs and just admitted to breaking a Federal Law.

If a package crosses state lines the crime instantly becomes federal and remember, in the eyes of the federal law, marijuana is still considered to be a Schedule I drug with no medicinal value or use and a high propensity for abuse. Trafficking a Schedule I drug can result in prison time of no more than five years for the first offense under 50 grams, and continues to climb dramatically as the weight increases. It is important to remember that even if you did not mail the package and are only the recipient, your knowledge and participation in the planning of the shipping makes you just as guilty as the person who mailed the package.

Sigh.

Dispatcher, Fleet Manager, Driver Manager

The primary person a driver communicates with at his/her company. A dispatcher can play many roles, depending on the company's structure. Dispatchers may assign freight, file requests for home time, relay messages between the driver and management, inform customer service of any delays, change appointment times, and report information to the load planners.

Thanks for the info, I appreciate your concern but no I don't get high all the time, that's why I asked about the hair test. Should not show up then, 1st time in 3 years.

See it's the I don't get high all the time. Which in better terms means I get high once in awhile. In this career you can't period. Believe that you can and you would be dead wrong. Just remember the first time you **** hot is the last time. No company will take you with a ten foot pole. Don't think for a minute that it won't happen. My class had 200 people in orientation. By the time the actual PSD started only 30 of us made it. If you do come up dirty during orientation you will be escorted off the property and finding your own way home. They will not pay the bus fare for failed drug tests or lies on background checks. I do wish you the best if you really are clean but this isn't a game of second chances. They are far and few between.

Brian, you are taking a huge chance with your career. If I were you I would try to be clean for around 120 days before I risked it like that. You won't have a chance at landing a job at any trucking company if you get sent home for a failed drug test. We just had another person in here last week who hadn't smoked in years and had a positive result from the hair test. His girlfriend smokes weed, and he tested positive... confused.gif
