So I'm finished with the TNt portion of training and heading back for my upgrade or will be had a few things come up like they always seem to in this industry pushing it back a little but no biggie. Anyways I was wondering 3 things. Thanks in advance for replies.
1. Can I go back do the upgrade classes and run team with a friend of mine?
2. I considered running team with my first trainer I had, and I see a lot of people who choose to stay in TNt longer and was wondering wouldn't you make more money if you upgraded and went team as opposed to staying in training longer?
3. If I can and do go team what cpm would I get?
Yeah, your an A seat now. You can run team. People that stay with their trainer on the truck usually get paid a thousand a week. There are ads at the yard sometimes in drivers lineup where people will offer someone a thousand a week to run team. If you ran with your friend and you were both company, I want to say you'll make 50cpm
Drivers are often paid by the mile and it's given in cents per mile, or cpm.
Prime Inc has their own CDL training program and it's divided into two phases - PSD and TNT.
The PSD (Prime Student Driver) phase is where you'll get your permit and then go on the road for 10,000 miles with a trainer. When you come back you'll get your CDL license and enter the TNT phase.
The TNT phase is the second phase of training where you'll go on the road with an experienced driver for 30,000 miles of team driving. You'll receive 14¢ per mile ($700 per week guaranteed) during this phase. Once you're finished with TNT training you will be assigned a truck to run solo.
When a violation by either a driver or company is confirmed, an out-of-service order removes either the driver or the vehicle from the roadway until the violation is corrected.
I'll tell you though. You earned yourself your own truck. It's a great feeling. You should see how that feels if you ask me. Nothing like being the captain of your own ship. And congrats on finishing tnt . Awesome job

Logan,
As Joshua pointed out, you are now an A seat driver and able to qualify for your own truck. I am sure Daniel B will chime in here about the pay to the truck since I have not been with Prime for over a year now. But I can tell you that whatever it is will be split evenly between the drivers if you are company drivers.
If you are teaming with a lease driver, it is whatever the agreed upon per mile amount X the amount of dispatched miles will be. So if you are dispatched 5000 miles and the agreed price is .15/mile then your gross pay will be $750. So just keep that in mind as you make your decision about how to go about this. Also realize just because a lease driver can (and sometimes do) go a different route that what was suggested and it means more miles than what the dispatch shows does not mean you will get the added miles. It is all done with dispatch miles not actual miles.
Prime pays HHG (House Hold Goods) mileage not Practical miles.

The main thing that has me thinking about team is that I like having the long runs of run hard relax while unloading then another load that takes a few days to do, it just seems like time went by faster running like that vs psd where we were on one clock if that makes any sense. Thanks it hasn't been easy but I'm proud to be where I am so far.
Prime Inc has a CDL training program and the first phase is referred to as PSD. You'll get your permit and then 10,000 miles of on the road instruction.
Prime’s PSD begins with you obtaining your CDL permit. Then you’ll go on the road with a certified CDL instructor for no less than 75 hours of one-on-one behind the wheel training. After training, you’ll return to Prime’s corporate headquarters in Springfield, Missouri, for final CDL state testing and your CDL license.
