Good for you Daniel. I am very surprised that you was assigned that load with a PSD student on the truck.
I remember one time I had a high value load out of FL that I took as a solo driver up the east coast (don't remember where I took it, somewhere here on the east coast). When I was told what it was, I was surprised. It was the rings you see around the top of medical bottles that you see meds in that need a syringe & needle to extract the liquid from the bottle. The ring is what holds the rubber stopper onto the bottle. Because of how it was used (not what it was) is the reason it was classified as a high value load. Still had to follow the Prime procedures for HV loads.

Prime Inc has a CDL training program and the first phase is referred to as PSD. You'll get your permit and then 10,000 miles of on the road instruction.
Prime’s PSD begins with you obtaining your CDL permit. Then you’ll go on the road with a certified CDL instructor for no less than 75 hours of one-on-one behind the wheel training. After training, you’ll return to Prime’s corporate headquarters in Springfield, Missouri, for final CDL state testing and your CDL license.

I will throw in my different point of view. I think this was a perfect decision to offer him the high value load. Now the PSD has experience and training with it, compared to him getting offered it after going solo and driving blindly with no experience. The PSD should be set up for success now.

He's already set up for success by having me as his instructor/trainer...

I'm finally able to talk about it. Yes, during the haul I'm to remain silent and never speak about my load with anyone.
I hauled a medical load of "drugs". The Bill of Lading gave no information on anything, didn't even have a manifest with it. The shipper didn't allow me to watch them load it and said very few words. The receiver was a little more open about it, they told me they can't say much but they told me what the load costs around.
I'm training a PSD student right now so when I got this load my DM called me and told me to drive this load by myself without letting the student drive at all.
The value of the load is easily 1 million dollars.
So let me put it this way. I, at the ripe age of 23, had around 1.2 million dollars in my responsibility. How am I still alive? Haha
I love this job, especially when it gets real interesting.
