Congratulations to you and your wife. It is great you have shown her how much you appreciate her being there. I cannot imagine being away from my hubby. We will be married 29 years this month and are just looking into going on the road together. (Our kids are grown) You guys are young and hope you continue loving what you do and that you two never take one another for granted :)

Congrats and I also wanted to say as an alternative to a local job, there are some companies like Interstate who have what they call "part time" trucking jobs, like 14 on / 7 off or 7 on / 7 off schedules, I'm thinking about going to something like that after I have gotten tired of full time OTR. I like the idea of driving for 2 weeks and then having a full week off to do whatever I want around the house.
OTR:
Over The Road
OTR driving normally means you'll be hauling freight to various customers throughout your company's hauling region. It often entails being gone from home for two to three weeks at a time.
Interstate:
Commercial trade, business, movement of goods or money, or transportation from one state to another, regulated by the Federal Department Of Transportation (DOT).
