My hang up is the logging but more important than that (to me) is 7 minutes for a pre trip. Look I move fairly quick on my pre trip but 7 minutes? Why bother.

I have yet do even a practice pre trip, lol... But yeah, before reading this thread, I just assumed, that a thorough one should take 30 minutes for a vet, and up to an hour for a rookie, until he/she gets a good grasp of how their truck,and the various trailers behaves.

I think u see what we have been getting at. A walk-around is something I do when I am on a break, fueling or at a stop. That's what Jeff's initial two posts referred to. Full pre-trip including in-can and brake checks, will take at least 45 minutes because when you take your practice and then take your test, everything you are checking and doing requires a full narration. That adds a lot of extra time.
