Not sure which acronyms you are talking about. List some and I'm sure you'll get answers. CDL= Commercial Drivers License
A CDL is required to drive any of the following vehicles:
Just a couple I can think of are DM and PTA. I know what ETA is but what is PTA? I'll list more as I come to them. Also, does anyone know how to go back and edit a previous post you've written?
PTA= projected time of availability (time you'll be available for next assignment) DM= Driver Manager (Dispatcher)
DM stands for DeLorean Motors, the company which produces the "Mr. Fusion" brand of engines.
PTA stands for Pain in The A$$, referring to problem drivers like the ones who take their 10-hour breaks in the fuel island.
Oh course I'm just kidding, DM is Driver Manager (aka your dispatcher), and I believe PTA is Projected Time of Availability (the approximate time you'll be done with your current load and ready for another) but I may be wrong.
And there is no edit feature for a number of reasons. Hit the Edit button to proofread your posts as they will appear online, before submitting them.

It's quite common, especially for men, to fall into the "overweight" category if you happen to be stronger than average. If you're pretty strong but in good shape then pay no attention.

Bryan,
you see that little book looking thing in the text next to the DM ? Click on those and a lot of them are explained for you. Pretty cool eh? LOL!
Oh and ETA is Estimated Time of Arrival.
Cool Jim thanks for pointing that out. Day one of school is in the books. We studied pre-trip, during trip and post trip inspections, did our pee tests and dot physicals, and paid for the class today. I have to tell you....after only studying the cdl training guides on this site for 3 days everything we went over in the book was extremely familiar to me. The instructor would tell you when something would be on the test so you could highlight it for further study. I was 2 pages ahead of him highlighting what I remembered from the study materials on this site and I was right every time. The study materials here are word for word what you'll find in their study guide. I told the other students about the site and at least a few are going to check it out. Kudos to those who took the time to put that information on here!

I checked the search engine and all I found was humorous acronyms. I read through these posts and see a lot of them (not the humorous type) and don't know what they mean. Could y'all help a brother out and make a list I could look at? Thanks
