Thanks T. I will be at the Phoenix Academy. About 100 miles north of my Hometown of Tucson

Oh great! You going to drive your personal car or get dropped off? Wouldn't think your taking a bus 100 miles or are you?

No, driving myself. Also paying for my own lodging. Living for 3 weeks with up to 3 total strangers in a motel room with bunk beds is NOT for me. Maybe in my 20's or Basic Training, but not for a 56 year old man that has lived by himself for 20+ years! I think living in a closet with a Mentor for 5 or 6 weeks will be more than enough for me!rofl-2.gif

Lol I hear that! I'm currently at 110 hours of my 200 with my mentor. It's going great I'm learning so much. Can't wait to finish & get my own truck tho.

Glad to hear you have a good Mentor. I'm keeping my fingers crossed on that one. Some of the Trainer "Horror Stories" on these forums concern me a bit. I just want to get it over with regardless, and go solo. I'm a bit of a Loner/Gypsy type, I think this job will fit me well. Time will tell!

T-man there is a lot of group studying that occurs that you should try to participate in. This is especially valuable when learning all the points of the pre-trip inspection.

I get it, I was 54 when I attended Swift Academy, but I just don't want you to short change yourself by not staying with the rest of the gang when it comes to the study groups.

Best of luck !

Pre-trip Inspection:

A pre-trip inspection is a thorough inspection of the truck completed before driving for the first time each day.

Federal and state laws require that drivers inspect their vehicles. Federal and state inspectors also may inspect your vehicles. If they judge a vehicle to be unsafe, they will put it “out of service” until it is repaired.

Thanks G. I will have no problem w/ study groups and things of that sort. Not anti social at all. Just need my own space and go to bed at 8:00 and get up around 3-3:30.
