Hi Everyone,

New Driver here....Any tips on finding good Truckstops? Just curious how you find stops with good food and parking. Don't want to eat fast food 3x per day!

Thanks

I found the app Trucker Path. If shows most truck stops, and Walmarts, on a map. Has the details - scales, showers, etc. - and read reviews.

Right now I'm stopped at "I-40 Travel Center" in Ozark, AR. I chose this place because reviews said "great food" and "killer BBQ". I've run across many good stops using this app.

I like to use my rand McNally gps.I will search points of interest, travel centers and can filter it based on a lot of current criteria. Amount of trucking parking fast food, regular restaurants, showers, laundry, repairs and the like.

Is "killer BBQ" a filter item?

You will learn the truck stops and plan your stops to hit the ones you like.

I also use trucker path but it does not show all the truck stops. Time on the road will be your best guide.

You're in my stomping grounds Errol. I grew up west of Ozark on the Oklahoma side of the line and now I am just outside of Little Rock. Wave if you pass through Conway. Lol

That'll be tomorrow. Booneville in the a.m., then Muskogee for a load to Georgia. Weekend stop in Memphis.

Free guided tour of my truck Monday morning at 4:30am! (That' s for the Swift Academy people.)

I have family in Muskogee... Been quite a long time since I have been there...passed through headed to Tulsa to catch the turnpike to 35 north into Kansas the last time I was in that area. You will pass my hometown..Muldrow...on I-40 a few minutes after you cross out of Arkansas.

I bought a truck stop guide at Primes company store. I also use truckers path but I would make notes in the book like parking situation at night. Helps if your back in the area couple months later and see notes saying full at 5pm.
