ChickieMonster I just got my beta test gps too and I love it! I really hope they give us some sort of discount on it when it comes out.

I'm a little nervous about as its their first truck specific GPS. Are you having any issues?

Nothing major but I haven't really been anywhere crazy with it yet. Sometimes it wants me to do weird things like pass the entrance to a truck stop, loop around it and come in from the other direction at the same entrance. Besides the occasional weird stuff, it is better than my Qualcomm. I can't say anymore because of the non-disclosure agreement. I really like it though and I'm afraid I'm getting too dependent on it--I think I'll have withdrawal when I have to give it up after the test lol.

Qualcomm:

Omnitracs (a.k.a. Qualcomm) is a satellite-based messaging system with built-in GPS capabilities built by Qualcomm. It has a small computer screen and keyboard and is tied into the truck’s computer. It allows trucking companies to track where the driver is at, monitor the truck, and send and receive messages with the driver – similar to email.

That sounds like a symptom with all GPS I know my Garmin doesn't like left turns so it will send me around so I do 3 right turns if I let it lol

Interesting. Does yours have you do U-turns sometimes? My Qualcomm does this and it drives me bonkers. Seriously, Swift will penalize me and eventually terminate me for doing u-turns.

There's one place I go past often, and apparently there's a segment of road in the database that has no name, so when I come up to it the qualcomm says "Continue on road". Well, I was thinking of going off in to the ditch, but OK.

Not very often, only if I'm on a road that it sees as a dead end like some of the roads a customer is on or some truck stops. My co pilot which is the company GPS tried to have me do more u turns but even that's not very often.
