My husband and I just started running as a team, and neither one of us can sleep as the truck is moving ANY SUGGESTIONS.
Time. You will just have to adjust to it. When I was teaming with my trainer, at first I couldn't sleep but as time when on I couldn't sleep in a still bed haha.
Mommas rock their babies to sleep. They must be something to that.
Close the curtain, set the A/C to a comfortable temp. Listen to the hum of the engine. Be rocked to slumberland by the rolling and bumping of truck. Goodnight Moon!
Do some boring activity. I play endless games of solitaire until I can't hold my cell phone any more.
OTC sleeping pills and ear plugs.
When I was with my trainer I always slept with my earphones in my ear listening to music. This was the ONLY way I could fall asleep & stay asleep
When I was with my mentor, I would set a timer for 8 hrs and force myself to stay in the sleeper and not move until that timer went off, unless I had to get up and relieve myself. No electronics, no books, maybe some music, and stay lying down. You'll eventually fall asleep.
Reading was always my go-to thing before going to sleep - still is. Like the others have said it will get better with time. Your body and mind just have to learn a new set of rules for what you can sleep through and what you can't.
It took me about three weeks to fall asleep while moving; however, last night was the first time I stayed asleep when exiting the highway and rolling into a truck stop or customer facility. It's been three months now including time with trainer.
