Coming over the mountains on i80w headed toward salt lake city, coming down the other side, they have signs up saying engine brakes are restricted. Really? So they'd rather have people burn up their brakes than disturb a few birds that may be hanging around? Or people on the golf course?

That's silly. Luckily, my Jake is muffled, and I rode it all the way down the mountain....

I made a run from Utah to Idaho. ..way up north. The signs said "deer crossing"... then elk. Then wolf.. then caribou.... finally "large game crossing" cause they couldn't dcide which animal was going to jump in front of me lol

I'm from NJ I didn't even know what a caribou was. Smh.

I laugh at the jake signs unless it's a sleepy little town or something

I heard that the ordinance actually was passed for the people on the golf course. Apparently the people who play there have some clout.

That's why I usually give 'em a blast from the air horn as they're putting.

.

The sign clearly says No Engine Brakes, it says nothing about Air Horns!

I remember thinking the exact same thing in that same spot. In fact, almost every time I see a "No Engine Brake" sign, other than in small towns, it's right before a downgrade!"

I usually try to obey the signs, but that spot on i80 I'd rather get a ticket.

Not advocating ignoring an ordinance, but these signs are there for the Petes and KW long hoods with straight pipe, un muffled exhaust. Our company trucks are well muffled and probably won't disturb Biff and Muffy as they putt.

I like the horn rip though. Keep on truckin'!

That's what my trainer told me too. I just try to follow them in general cause you could always get that one cop who didn't get any donuts that morning haha

Some amazing scenery thoug . I'm taking my 10 here at a little fuel stop in cisco, ca, not much of a place but has a store and a lot with plenty of parking.

By the way, I went through the weigh station there at truckee tahoe. Does anyone know if that's a rolling scale or do you have to stop on the scale? I didn't see any signs, so I proceeded at 5mph over the scale, but now I'm wondering lol. I guess the absence of a patrol car behind me should be a sign, but I worry that maybe there was only one guy there and he didn't have anyone as a chaser. Looked at some youtube videos and it appears that all those people just rolled across, still wanted to check with you guys, to know if I should expect a ticket in the mail and a conversation with safety.

Unless it had stop lights and stop signs you are good to creep through it. Your synopsis is likely correct, no Smokie then Okie-Dokie.
