Oh yeah, JV is definitely not in the recruiting brochure. That place interferes with driver retention more than they can possibly know.
I stopped at the Swift Gary, Indiana, terminal late at night for a T-call. I felt like I was in that scene in Apocalypse Now.
But it's not so bad in the day time.
A facility where trucking companies operate out of, or their "home base" if you will. A lot of major companies have multiple terminals around the country which usually consist of the main office building, a drop lot for trailers, and sometimes a repair shop and wash facilities.

Is Errol EMBELLISHING AGAIN!!!
Bah, the real fuster cluck is at Combined in Bensalem, PA. Checked in to be loaded at 1900 YESTERDAY. Just now got into a dock but still waiting for the last 5 pallets to arrive so they can finish loading us.
Gotta love a team truck that gets detained for 15 hours and counting.
Jurupa is the worst. Bad idea when I was there on the 4th of July. Damn miracle I didn't hit anything. Better off just spending money at ontario or finding an industrial area to park in.
Holy Cow! Showed up at the Swift Jurupa Valley Terminal about midnight. Had a 2200 live unload down the street. I thought Drivers got creative with parking spots at Truck Stops at midnight. Jeeze Louise!! Everyone is blocking everybody and everything. I'll try to avoid this place like the PLAGUE!
When I saw the heading I thought "loves little Rock ar, loves Morrill ion ar, pilot Chicago, flying j denver"...
Haha soooo many

No, I'm not "EMBELLISHING". Maybe my imagination feeds on the darkness and fears to produce this image, but not embellishing things.

Rainy, if you are ever around Morillton AR again go down the road a little bit to Blackwell Travel Stop. Loves is exit 107, Blackwell is 101. It's a gravel lot but it's huge and there is ALWAYS parking. I've rolled in at midnight and not even had to back into a spot. They are terrific inside and their breakfast is awesome. Plus they have Domino's pizza and Baskin Robbins.
Errol, back me up on this!
And I know what you mean about the J in Denver. I had to get fuel there and it took 30 minutes just to get to the pumps. Middle of the day and there wasn't a single spot to park either. Luckily my reciever has a spare parking lot next door which I can park in if I'm ever in the area, even if I'm not delivering there. The lady at the guard shack says they have no problem with people parking there as that side of the building is empty.
