Thanks Errol, not sure how well that would go! Lol! I'm not that great of a writer!

Not to worry. The first day is usually all paperwork, pee-in-a-cup and basic orientation.

Here's a project: count how many students there are in the morning, then count how many are still there in the afternoon!

Thanks Patrick, do you drive for Millis?

double-quotes-end.png

Nope, I ment in general a few of the companies seems a bit out of date, I'm about to start calling Prime soon that's who I plan to drive with to start just waiting to see if I can drop my BP a bit (drowning myself in water and bananas)

Oh gotcha! I've heard good things about Prime. Just ask Rainy! Remember, deep even breaths and ooooommmmmmmmm!

I'm about 45 min up 75 from Cartersville. I considered milis initially. Just curious, what's the pay rate these days?

Hey CT, the starting pay for Millis is $0.42 per mile. They also do not reimburse the tuition after 18 months. Also that $0.42 is for all miles that the truck moves. This is whether you are driving or your trainer! The starting earning potential is amazing!

I posted a link to their web page where it says it in big bold letters right on the top. When do they start paying that? Once you get your CDL or once you go out with your trainer.

CDL:

Commercial Driver's License (CDL)

A CDL is required to drive any of the following vehicles:

  • Any combination of vehicles with a gross combined weight rating (GCWR) of 26,001 or more pounds, providing the gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of the vehicle being towed is in excess of 10,000 pounds.
  • Any single vehicle with a GVWR of 26,001 or more pounds, or any such vehicle towing another not in excess of 10,000 pounds.
  • Any vehicle, regardless of size, designed to transport 16 or more persons, including the driver.
  • Any vehicle required by federal regulations to be placarded while transporting hazardous materials.
