I'm so excited I had to share with you all how easy this was.

I wear contacts and get a script every two years. My script is up in June and I wanted to schedule an appt for glasses but it never happened.

Today I got an email about my vision insurance and buying glasses and contacts through the mail. I went online, picked out my frames, they called my doctor to use the current script and they take my VSP vision coverage.

After insurance my frames and lenses including reflective and anti scratch coating came to $45!! Plus free shipping. And VSP allows purchases every calendar year, not every other year like my old PPO.

My new glasses are being shipped to Prime and a nearby doctor can adjust them if need be.

The ordering eyewear company is eyeconic.com and if you have VSP, even if paying cash you get a 20% discount. You have no idea how easy this was, so for any of you OTR who don't have time to either see the doctor but have a script, or can see a doctor but don't have time two weeks later for a fitting...this might help you out.

OTR:

Over The Road

OTR driving normally means you'll be hauling freight to various customers throughout your company's hauling region. It often entails being gone from home for two to three weeks at a time.

And if you don't have a valid script but you know what your prescription is you can order from Canada cheaper (contacts)

And Ole Wallyworld has lots of vision centers (to get your eyes tested)

Rainy I'll have to check them out. The last pair of Oakley's I had went swimming in the Atlantic. And they had transition lenses from glasses.com. Somewhere a fish is pretty happy.

Just remember, Rainy drives at night, bites, and invites people over for (to be) dinner. LoL.

Sorry Rainy, had to pick on ya. I just need to get back south and out of Wisconsin. This is the 3rd week in a row I have been up here.

I'd rather be in WI than dodging Bison in Yellowstone park. Lol

But...YAY I'm headed back east to MA. ;)

Youz guys can keep the west. -15 in Montana is BS

Long story...but at the end, the message from my QC said "your cat might not bite but you do". My FM accused me of being vicious!!!!!

But I'm sooooo sweeeettt lol

Fm:

Dispatcher, Fleet Manager, Driver Manager

The primary person a driver communicates with at his/her company. A dispatcher can play many roles, depending on the company's structure. Dispatchers may assign freight, file requests for home time, relay messages between the driver and management, inform customer service of any delays, change appointment times, and report information to the load planners.

I didn't know that. I've had the same prescription for about 20 years now and my eye exams always expire after a year and I was told no one would fill the prescription after that. So anytime I get an eye exam I buy two or three years worth of lenses and get a new exam after I use them all up. I've always thought there had to be a way to buy lenses without a prescription but I never really looked into it.
