Every School is going to teach you a specific way to do the PT, along with certain verbage. They are all a bit different. They should provide you with a handout with all of that information. My "trick" to learning mine was to write it out longhand, more than once. If you do that, it will take some time but it will ingrain it to memory. Just make sure to familiarize yourself with all of the specific components. The In cab airbrake test is the only one you need to get 100%. Good luck!
Thank you sir been trying to learn it about a week...so maybe I just need to be patient. Just ready to be driving

Enter "Pre trip my way" in the search box at the top of the page. Daniel B spent a crap load of time putting it together. Tons of great pics!
I made flashcards and went through them once or twice every single night before going to bed for a little more than a week. I'm not exceptionally bright, but I aced my pretrip. Just keep at it for a few more days and it should start to stick.
Truck drivers who regularly pick up from or deliver to the shipping ports will often be required to carry a TWIC card.
Your TWIC is a tamper-resistant biometric card which acts as both your identification in secure areas, as well as an indicator of you having passed the necessary security clearance. TWIC cards are valid for five years. The issuance of TWIC cards is overseen by the Transportation Security Administration and the Department of Homeland Security.
The best "trick" is repetition I think. At my school we had a practice truck out in the parking lot. I'd be out there all the time going over my routine, over and over and over again. For me, having the truck in front of me made all the difference. All the flash cards in the world wouldnt make a difference in my case. I needed to be able to physically see and touch the parts to ingrain it in my memory.
Following a pattern helped also. Start inspecting top to bottom, inner to outer, etc.
Look up Apex driving school pretrip video on YouTube. It's a long video but very detailed and a perfect example of a good pretrip, with the proper verbage.
Operating While Intoxicated
Im making a checklist and laminating it. Ill just use a dry erase marker and clipboard.
Repetition and practice are the best teachers for most everything we must learn about trucking. No shortcut, no substitute. Keep at it.
I practiced so much my nickname became "pretrip" amongst the other students.
