I plugged a Stuart, FL zip code (34994) into the job search app on Schneider's website. They list several jobs available. One includes paid CDL refresher training. You will have to work there for a certain amount of time and then owe nothing for training. Schneider Link

Ok, I need to make sure of something: this link you provided me, is it just for people who have their CDL and need a refresher course or do they help you get your CDL? I need to get my CDL back.

CDL:

Commercial Driver's License (CDL)

A CDL is required to drive any of the following vehicles:

  • Any combination of vehicles with a gross combined weight rating (GCWR) of 26,001 or more pounds, providing the gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of the vehicle being towed is in excess of 10,000 pounds.
  • Any single vehicle with a GVWR of 26,001 or more pounds, or any such vehicle towing another not in excess of 10,000 pounds.
  • Any vehicle, regardless of size, designed to transport 16 or more persons, including the driver.
  • Any vehicle required by federal regulations to be placarded while transporting hazardous materials.

Ok, I checked on this and they told me that you already had to have your CDL. I appreciate it anyway.

I think it would depend on how long you went without having it.

I'm thinking Brett or Old School will chime in here any minute.

I had to downgrade it on 04/11/2015. That was 10 days before my physical was set to expire.

Typo. Date should read 04/11/2016. Forgive me about the error.

Just an update: I wanted to let you all know that I decided to go with Jim Palmer trucking for my retraining. My plan is to stick with them at least a year and then go back to work for Werner. Please pray for me that all of this goes ok for me. I really want to get back into this. I love y'all and thank you for helping me select a training company to get back out there. I really appreciate it. To Brett and all of the moderators: Thanks so much for building and maintaining this site. It is really helpful. good-luck-2.gifsmile.gifthank-you.gifthank-you-2.gif

Today is when I put in the app. About how long will it take to hear back from them?

A lot of companies guarantee a response within 24 hours. May just be a recording though.

Good luck to you...! Be patient with JP. They tend to take a bit longer to process applications. Not a bad thing...

Please keep us posted.
