(Samsung tablet, Android OS) The link opens a page that has the Trucking Truth title but no picture. The truck and black background are missing, but I see the three-bar icon on the left. That opens a full, detailed, menu.
Selecting anything of that menu opens to the correct page, but the three bar is gone, and the seven main sections (What We Do, Truck Driving Jobs, Trucker's Forum...) are listed on the left.

Yeah, I forgot to say I've removed the old picture. It's just going to be the title with the little logo next to it.

Yeah, that's because I'm only running the new menu on that demo page. Once I install the new menu across the entire site you'll see it everywhere.
So it sounds like it's working correctly for you then.
The 3 bar menu works in my Sam. Galaxy 3 phone (smaller format), but on selecting s page, the side menu is gone. (I know, smaller screen, won't fit.)
A suggestion: either a "guided tour" that happens when a person registers, or better, a "Start Here" page to describe all the wonderful features of Trucking Truth. So many people start out with questions like, "What's the best way to study for the CDL test?", and "Anybody know about Haulem Trucking in Hoople ND?"
A CDL is required to drive any of the following vehicles:
I really like the layout and it's great that I don't have to load a whole new page just to drop down a part on the menu like I do now. It's faster and sleeker-looking in my opinion.
The only thing that bugs me a little is how many menu options there are, and how they don't seem to be in any particular order. I wonder if you could put them in a more logical order, like putting all the learning materials next to each other, or do just alphabetical order. You could even cut down on the main menu items by just using "Learning materials" (or something similar) and having the HRTP and app and practice tests and so on under that drop down menu. Just my $.02
I really like the new menu. It's very nice looking and works well with my phone
I don't like it TBH. It would work great on mobile, but on PC it just looks weird IMO.
Ok, I've been working on this for a few days now and I think I have a better version. I've reduced the number of options on the main list by categorizing some of them. I've also reduced the wording so you can quickly figure out exactly what each item is and I alphabetized everything.
So here's what I'd like you guys to do. We have two basic crowds - those who have been around for a bit and know what we offer, and those who are brand new to the website.
If you've been around for a while you know our offerings pretty well. See if you can quickly find different areas of the website you might be looking for. Look for "Hazmat Practice Tests" or "CDL Training Diaries" or "Podcast" - just name sections that you know off the top of your head and see if you can find them quickly and easily. Does everything seem to be logically organized?
For those who are really new to the website and don't know it very well - does the menu help you understand all of the different types of content we have available and does it seem to be well organized?
As you can see I've implemented several of the suggestions you guys have made and I very much appreciate the help!
A CDL is required to drive any of the following vehicles:
Explosive, flammable, poisonous or otherwise potentially dangerous cargo. Large amounts of especially hazardous cargo are required to be placarded under HAZMAT regulations
I like it! Much easier to navigate. I think it's pretty easy to find what I'm looking for.
New! Check out our help videos for a better understanding of our forum features
Ok everyone, I've got the new menu and website header complete and I'd like you guys to test this out for me, let me know what you think:
New Menu Demo
Does that menu work well on your device?
Do you have any suggestions for making it better?
I plan on putting that across the entire website starting tomorrow morning so I'd appreciate any feedback I can get.
Thanks!
