My mother in law whom is the widow of my father in law, gave me this cb today. My father in law was a trucker and passed away a few years back due to cancer. I am inheriting his tools for the truck. Is this a good CB? I have been told that old cb radios are better but I have no clue. Either way, I'll start with this and save points to buy a new one... unless this is the real deal holyfield. Thanks yall
What kind/brand of cb?
Sorry I tried to post the picture but I'm not so internet savvy. It's an old midland CB and if I can post the pic i will. Maybe Brett can help me out?
Midland made very good radios, so you've probably picked up something worthwhile. The problem anymore is that there aren't that many good radio shops that work on them. Drivers who love them will have them tuned up and maybe even bumped up power wise and upgrade internals for performance and longevity but when they need repair, good places are becoming fewer and fewer since all too many people will spend $500 on a gps but not spend $100 on a radio that might save their life.
Figured it out! So it doesn't look fancy or anything but hopefully it will serve me well.
If it works, and you can get your antenna calibrated/adjusted with it, I would use it.
