As I’ve mentioned before I started CDL school about four weeks ago. Well today’s the big day...testing today. Unfortunately with the size of our class (9 students) we only can do pretrip today and skills and road tomorrow. I feel confident about passing. Just gotta remember not to release the clutch so quick. I’ll keep y’all updated!

CDL:

Commercial Driver's License (CDL)

A CDL is required to drive any of the following vehicles:

  • Any combination of vehicles with a gross combined weight rating (GCWR) of 26,001 or more pounds, providing the gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of the vehicle being towed is in excess of 10,000 pounds.
  • Any single vehicle with a GVWR of 26,001 or more pounds, or any such vehicle towing another not in excess of 10,000 pounds.
  • Any vehicle, regardless of size, designed to transport 16 or more persons, including the driver.
  • Any vehicle required by federal regulations to be placarded while transporting hazardous materials.

Today was a success! No points on the pretrip. Tomorrow is backing skills and road test. Two didn’t make it today but I’m confident they’ll get it tomorrow!
