The Trucker Path app will tell you where the Walmarts are in any given area. Click on a Walmart and read the reviews. There you will usually get the latest up-to-date info on whether or not they allow parking, as well as tips for the best way to get in or out of the property.

And for the love of trucking, if you park at a WalMart please please please keep it clean. Don't dump your garbage, don't pee in the parking lot, don't leave a cart next to your truck if you shop, return it to the corral. Leave the place cleaner than you found it. It's getting harder and harder to find Walmarts nowadays because of pigs.

Also, go inside and spend some money while you're there. Let the manager know you have to do some shopping, and then ask if you can stay the night. A little $$ and politeness go a long way.

Do you guys find the Trucker Path app to be pretty accurate? I downloaded it (just so I know how it works) and it's pretty cool. When a driver pulls in somewhere do they update it to "lots of parking" or "a few spaces" or what-have-you? Is that how it works? Thanks!

That is how it works, unfortunately, not enough drivers update it.

Lots of different opinions on "some spots" also. I dont know how many times I've pulled in to a truck stop that somebody just updated to some spots and it is completely empty in the back row

Yes I've found it to be fairly accurate. Sometimes the parking situation can be a crapshoot, but you can look at the history over the past several days to get a better idea of what you will find when you get there. There's also the occasional jackwad who gets some sick pleasure from marking it full although there are still plenty of spots left.

I usually try to make it a point to update the parking status of wherever I am, as well as leave a short written review.
