Hey, sorry I took so long to respond to this. You can always email me suggestions. I'd rather not discuss it here in the forum because I don't want to hurt anyone's feelings by saying they're not ready to be a moderator, but I'm always open to discussing it.

Keep in mind - moderators have no "actual power" to moderate (that is, edit or delete posts of others). It is more of an honorary title to recognize long time contributors that have consistently made positive contributions to the board and are respected senior members here. Brett has full say-so on what & who stays/goes on this board - his sandbox/his rules. Could he probably use some help when the board gets busy - sure - but I don't know (temperamentally or otherwise) that EVEN I would want that kind of power to just go in and nuke stuff whenever I saw fit.

I got the title of "Technical Advisor", because despite having a CDL-A for over a decade, I've never actually used it full time OTR - but I do stay current on the industry and am a consummate researcher (Rickipedia).

CDL:

Commercial Driver's License (CDL)

A CDL is required to drive any of the following vehicles:

  • Any combination of vehicles with a gross combined weight rating (GCWR) of 26,001 or more pounds, providing the gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of the vehicle being towed is in excess of 10,000 pounds.
  • Any single vehicle with a GVWR of 26,001 or more pounds, or any such vehicle towing another not in excess of 10,000 pounds.
  • Any vehicle, regardless of size, designed to transport 16 or more persons, including the driver.
  • Any vehicle required by federal regulations to be placarded while transporting hazardous materials.

OTR:

Over The Road

OTR driving normally means you'll be hauling freight to various customers throughout your company's hauling region. It often entails being gone from home for two to three weeks at a time.
