On my driving record, I have two no insurance accidents four years old, A failure to appear 3 years ago. Failure to pay failure to file insurance and driving while suspended 2 years ago. I just reinstated them. Can I start a career in trucking?

Probably not for a few years at best, they are going to want to see a few years of responsible driving behavior before most companies give you a chance.

Even then you may have a tough time finding a company.

Holy cow, you don’t learn from your mistakes do you? As Bobcat Bob wrote, it will be several years from now before anyone will consider you, and THAT WILL BE WITH NO TICKETS FROM HERE ON OUT. Right now, you are way too much of a liability on any carriers insurance plan. Just curious on your age now?

Hello, and welcome to the forum. You probably will.have to wait for awhile to prove to the companines you can be responsible.

What you need to know before starting CDL school

CDL:

Commercial Driver's License (CDL)

A CDL is required to drive any of the following vehicles:

  • Any combination of vehicles with a gross combined weight rating (GCWR) of 26,001 or more pounds, providing the gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of the vehicle being towed is in excess of 10,000 pounds.
  • Any single vehicle with a GVWR of 26,001 or more pounds, or any such vehicle towing another not in excess of 10,000 pounds.
  • Any vehicle, regardless of size, designed to transport 16 or more persons, including the driver.
  • Any vehicle required by federal regulations to be placarded while transporting hazardous materials.

NO Way. Like the others said you will need at least 3 years of clean driving. Keep insurance and your license clean. Dive like an old man, slow and careful. Don't drink or use drugs. Don't get tickets. Pay attention when you drive. Take a defensive driving course. Remain gainfully employed. Good luck.
