Marc, if you want to have some fun with your new skill, look up Georgia Pacific in Big Island, Virginia and try to find the two loading dock ramps in the back, by the James River. They are fun to back up on. Try the satellite view and the street view.

Is this the dock you are talking about? I see 2 docks, that look manageable? When you say fun, what exactly makes them more challenging than others? I don't drive yet, but trying to understand what you are referring to. Thanks.

Doesn't look so bad (for a real trucker, which I am not yet!)

Keep heading NW along the river to the docks I think Bruce was referring to.

I don't know if it's my phone or what but I have not been able to access Google Earth off of the Google Maps app for several weeks. I have updated, deleted and reinstalled Google Maps app. Finally just downloaded the Google Earth app and everything works fine I have no idea what's going on?

Army, the paper roll loading dock is not in your shot. But Marc got it in his street view. It's the one with the two trucks. The Averitt driver would not have been able to open his drivers door, but would have had to climb out the passengers side. Then there is a huge round tank at the bottom of the ramp that makes you back around the corner of the building before you get into a straight back position. My trainer who has been there 100's of times as a GP dedicated driver, says he's seen "many a driver fail" to get backed into that dock. It may not be among the toughest back-in, but it's a challenge.

I was looking here thinking it would be a pain.

Pete, it's in your screen shot. The dock in question is right next to the purple awning more to the center of your shot. And then there is the big round tank right by the river, with a dark green top view and a ladder like structure across it's radius. That tank is one you have to miss with the right front of your tractor when starting your back in.

Well thanks for that because I know we pick up rolls there.
