What trucking companies run tanker trucks that don't require hazmat endorsements

HAZMAT:

Hazardous Materials

Explosive, flammable, poisonous or otherwise potentially dangerous cargo. Large amounts of especially hazardous cargo are required to be placarded under HAZMAT regulations

The hazmat endorsement should only take about one solid hour of studying to achieve a passing score. Why not get it and try a year or so of OTR before jumping right into the fire of pulling a tanker around as a brand new driver? This is something that is highly discouraged and dangerous to attempt at the very beginning of a driver's career.

OTR:

Over The Road

OTR driving normally means you'll be hauling freight to various customers throughout your company's hauling region. It often entails being gone from home for two to three weeks at a time.

The study portion for haz is not that difficult. Obtaining the Haz certificate requires fingerprinting and TSA backgrounding. Not difficult, as there are lots of places near major metro areas that will submit your prints for an $85 dollar fee. Many outifits will pay your app fee, by reimbursement, if you get your haz after you are hired. The advice here is sound. Gain driving experience in all seasons before jumping into tankers. Especially Haz tanks...

BMI:

Body mass index (BMI)

BMI is a formula that uses weight and height to estimate body fat. For most people, BMI provides a reasonable estimate of body fat. The BMI's biggest weakness is that it doesn't consider individual factors such as bone or muscle mass. BMI may:

  • Underestimate body fat for older adults or other people with low muscle mass
  • Overestimate body fat for people who are very muscular and physically fit

It's quite common, especially for men, to fall into the "overweight" category if you happen to be stronger than average. If you're pretty strong but in good shape then pay no attention.

This is your second question about hazmat endorsement. Will you not pass the TSA check?
