I got think following link in a reply from my former commander today. It’s worth the read... the sacrifice is real people. I previously posted the by name list of all those in my brigade who died during our deployment.
Operating While Intoxicated
Thanks for that link, Army.
We are a Gold Star family and Memorial Day has always been a respectful time for us even before we were old enough to understand what it was all about.
Army---
Thanks for sharing this story. It makes me angry that we have jerks in Congress that won't let our troops really do their job. This garbage of not firing unless fired upon is that, garbage. We have too many liberals in Congress. They don't know what it takes to win a war. As a veteran, we need to end this. Remember the ones who have lost their lives in this senseless conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan. And to remember in all the wars those who gave their all, so we here in America can be free.
Now I'll wait for the ones who think I'm too extreme. For those of you--- Remember, they want all Americans DEAD. If the miltary were allowed to actually go do the job I know could do, we would have ended this along time ago. You don't wait--- you act.

I just want to share some stories.... Raptor, I agree ROE is tough and ever changing. Pete, thank you for sharing. I have also done two casualty assistance mission for gold star parents... Memorial Day is a day to remember the fallen. I am truely amazed at the stories of courage and commitment to nothing more than their battle buddy next to them. My only wish, would be that our nation would have treated Vietnam Veterans better upon there return.
Safe travels.
God bless you and thank you for your service or me. Same to all on here and across the country that have lost loved ones. I'm one of the incredibly fortunate ones. Both of my grandfathers served in World War II I have uncles and cousins that served in Korea and Vietnam. And they all came home... a few purple hearts but they made it back alive. That doesn't mean that came back all the way... PTSD is horrible...
