I see a lot of civilian trucks pulling flatbeds with military trucks and equipment. How much business does the Department Of Defense do with the trucking industry? Is it a lot, or just a drop in the bucket? Are all the driver's O/O or are the big dogs involved in that sector?

My state just got back about 100 semi loads of vehicles that were used in training in Europe this spring. We had to have it line hauled it to a port in SC and back.

Line Haul:

Linehaul drivers will normally run loads from terminal to terminal for LTL (Less than Truckload) companies.

LTL (Less Than Truckload) carriers will have Linehaul drivers and P&D drivers. The P&D drivers will deliver loads locally from the terminal and pick up loads returning them to the terminal. Linehaul drivers will then run truckloads from terminal to terminal.
