The job has to be done. Great effort, but as you said it was out of your control. Love the attitude about how to deal with the yucky stuff(NYC in particular). Was really hoping it would work out in your favor. Thanks again for more inspiration.

When approaching an intersection, you need to be looking well in advance at the approach, attack, and execution of the turn.

I have already started doing this to the extent that I can: I evaluate each intersection to determine the path that creates the widest turning radius. I even try to visualize how wide I can swing and still make the turn if I were driving a truck with a 53' trailer behind me. I also watch trucks and the path they take through intersections.

Wow I'm glad you brought up this old post. Rereading it just now reminded me of the fun I had that day. In some insane way, I enjoy a challenge like that...after it's over.

Now would be the best time to take a shot at pulling this off, with everyone shacked up. If I were dispatched this load tomorrow, I'd say the same thing I said back then:

"Challenge accepted."
