I’m confused. Did you say Veriha would hire you?

If so, what are you waiting for?

If you have a good company like Veriha or any other major company willing to hire you, I would jump on it, regardless of commitment. The longer you keep shopping around, the worse your chances of being hired will get.

Your commitment will pass quickly and at that point you will have experience and will be able to shop around if you are unhappy.

Thanks Grumpy! JUST SPOKE WITH Daedra from Veriha. (I think she pronounced it Ver-EYE-ya)...

Programs look great (both training phase and full employment). Need to do their assessment and qualification process but if they will have me my search is probably over.

(Need to find an even earlier Opthamologist appointment to make their 10/14 class, otherwise next one is 2 weeks later).

I had that same Opthalmologist struggle. Why are those appointments so far off, but the place is always empty? I had to go to one an hour away to get my DOT card in time for my appointment to turn my documents into FedEx.

DOT:

Department Of Transportation

A department of the federal executive branch responsible for the national highways and for railroad and airline safety. It also manages Amtrak, the national railroad system, and the Coast Guard.

State and Federal DOT Officers are responsible for commercial vehicle enforcement. "The truck police" you could call them.

HOS:

Hours Of Service

HOS refers to the logbook hours of service regulations.

Marc, is that Veriha job a traditional over the road type job? I think you'd be helping yourself a lot by taking that type of position.

Over The Road:

Over The Road

OTR driving normally means you'll be hauling freight to various customers throughout your company's hauling region. It often entails being gone from home for two to three weeks at a time.

You just spoke with them? We forwarded your application to Veriha on Sept 13th. That was two weeks ago.

Thanks OS. Yes, I believe they have multiple OTR opportunities across WI, running 48 States.

Yes. Never heard from them in response to that contact. Apparently didn't do the "full app" either so they weren't on my radar.

Did a quickie app on their site yesterday and got a call this morning.

Take West Side Transport off that list of hiring with no experience. We no longer do and require a minimum of 5 months experience... preferably over 6 months.

Got this from V&S Midwest Carriers:

At this time we require 1 year of verifiable tractor trailer driving experience and a clean MVR and CSA score.

CSA:

Compliance, Safety, Accountability (CSA)

The CSA is a Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) initiative to improve large truck and bus safety and ultimately reduce crashes, injuries, and fatalities that are related to commercial motor vehicle

MVR:

Motor Vehicle Record

An MVR is a report of your driving history, as reported from your state Department of Motor Vehicles. Information on this report may include Drivers License information, point history, violations, convictions, and license status on your driving record.

No clue!

Tomorrow I plan on calling the nearest location of my hospital group (where I got the 3 week out appointment to replace the 2 month out with my reqular Dr. much further away) and asking which of all their Opthamologists can see me soonest! Don't really care who... mostly just care when!
