I need one of the newer qcp's. I'm at Prime and affected, had to use paper logs about a month ago when they pushed an update that put our Qualcomm in a never ending boot-loop.
Hope they get it fixed, this team has no need to cheat, and paper logs are a pain in the butt.

This is almost funny, considering how resistant many drivers were (and some still are) to E-Logs.
OOIDA and others, are still fighting the ELD Mandate. The (supposed) basis of the fight is how ELD's didn't actually increase safety (which is what the purported government intent was in instituting them) - and the expense to implement them (which, for smaller companies isn't really all that expensive - they aren't expected to purchase expensive Omnitrac hardware and services - there are many smaller cost-effective alternatives).
But most drivers nowadays appreciate the convenience of the E-Logs, and how compliance has because as simple as a couple of button clicks on the screen.
I would opine many newly minted drivers, won't be able to fill out a log (or accurately calculate re-caps/etc.) to save their lives. Hopefully the DOT powers that be, will cut the affected fleets some slack, while Omnitrac gets their act together.
As with any technology, the bigger it gets, the more impact a failure will create.
