Hair Follicle Testing Question

Hair follicle testing can detect various drugs for anywhere from 60 - 180 days with the norm being about 90 for most drugs. I have heard rumors (and only rumors) that HFT can detect drugs up to 1+ years. My recommendation would be wait 120 days and go for it...

The 180 day number is probably true. However, the stuff the lab looks for deteriorates over time, so it's often a 90 day limit to ensure the test is valid. All you need to do is ask. That's how I got the number from Swift.

Once it is in your hair, it stays, like rings in a tree. It does degrade over time. It takes a couple of weeks to show up, because the hair hasn’t grown past the surface yet.

The 90 day figure is based on 1 1/2” of hair, since most people’s hsir grows 1/2” per month.

Body hair does not grow as fast as head hair, so hair tested from there will show much longer.

HFT Myths

Wait it out; the longer the better! I am not trying to sound judgemental, but your attitude or beliefs towards smoking "recreational" pot is going to have to change. In other words, never again. If you believe you won't be able - or don't want - to stay away from pot or other drugs, better not to even start a driving career.

FYI there is also a home kit you can buy and send in an anonymous hair sample to check it out and be sure before you start.
