Waiting for shippers or receivers? Don't know that world.

Pretty much when we show up they are chomping at the bit to load or unload us.

It's more of an issue trying to stay out of their way so you don't get hit with the forks or run over.

Shipper:

The customer who is shipping the freight. This is where the driver will pick up a load and then deliver it to the receiver or consignee.

Yeah i’m still here, we’ve been running non stop. I told my trainer every-time he pulled into a shipper/receiver to wake me up so i can get more backing practice in. Up until about 2 weeks ago i’ve been going for easy pull in parking spots. I’ve been doing a lot of tight parking spots and empty trailer sections that has tight spots as of late. I only have about 3 weeks left of tnt until my 50k is up so i’ve been doing the majority of things. Lumper fees, macros, live load calls, etc. On my next 34 hour reset which should be soon, i’ll add more stuff, i forgot a lot of it except for the mistakes i’ve made. Also got a level 1 inspection about a month back, wasn’t bad.

Prime Inc has their own CDL training program and it's divided into two phases - PSD and TNT.

The PSD (Prime Student Driver) phase is where you'll get your permit and then go on the road for 10,000 miles with a trainer. When you come back you'll get your CDL license and enter the TNT phase.

The TNT phase is the second phase of training where you'll go on the road with an experienced driver for 30,000 miles of team driving. You'll receive 14¢ per mile ($700 per week guaranteed) during this phase. Once you're finished with TNT training you will be assigned a truck to run solo.

Currently @ 48,071 miles, we ran 6212 last week and 5700 so far this week. Waiting for dispatch to give us a load before pay period ends, hopefully 800 miles or so going from NY to IL to put me at less than 1200 miles needed to finish TNT. Think i’m going to finish my first year in a LW for the extra income then upgrade to a condo after.
