James, typically the only requirement is some form of a state ID. Most companies want to see a current drivers license, or a state issued identification card. Here's an interesting fact... Very few companies will allow your spouse to ride if they have a CDL.

Oh OK so no background check we have to wait for or other documentation’s

That's right James. I've not heard of anybody doing background checks on a passenger. They usually just want a copy of their state ID on file at the office.
As long as the spouse is not a fugitive, not an illegal, has no warrants, and has a state issued ID you'll have no problem.
Some companies may have a rider fee.
Check with the company. They all seem to have little differences. My company doesn’t allow riders at all, but that is because many customers don’t allow more than 1 person in the plant with each truck. Most require additional insurance requirements.
If you ever go into a Port, she cannot go in with you in the truck unless she has a TWIC card, which requires a background check.
Otherwise, each company has their own rules....some require 3 or 6 mths wait for a new driver, some require insurance, some can't be a CDL driver, etc. Ask at your office.

Truck drivers who regularly pick up from or deliver to the shipping ports will often be required to carry a TWIC card.
Your TWIC is a tamper-resistant biometric card which acts as both your identification in secure areas, as well as an indicator of you having passed the necessary security clearance. TWIC cards are valid for five years. The issuance of TWIC cards is overseen by the Transportation Security Administration and the Department of Homeland Security.
