Already putting the new truck through her paces. Just did a blindside that took me 30 minutes to set up for in the dark in some pos store that was legit designed for a box truck

The award for my worst store for the week (so far.....)

This was my load before I got the new truck. It took me forever to get in there. Rain has severely damaged the delivery area and I was fighting a lean for the majority of the unload. Had to get the liftgate lined up on a little sliver of concrete pad.

I was supposed to go home tomorrow but they made me an offer I couldn’t refuse. They offered me a ridiculous amount of money (900)on top of what the load pays) to come pull a 2 day reefer load for the dg fresh account, go home and do my reset and then come back out and pull reefer for next week. 🤷🏻‍♂️ I called the wife and said I would be a day or 2 late lol.

The best part of those DG fresh loads is that there's no toppers! I did it once, I had 9 stops, but wasn't at a store for then about a half hour. 45 minutes if I was going slow.

Had a first today. Was delivering to my 3rd of (NINE!) stops in Panama City Florida. Turned on to a road that the only truck route i could find to get to this store and when i created the hill I was met with a road closed detour sign . It was a one lane one way divided street.

This detour was definitely not truck friendly. I got out and looked to see if I could make it and there was just no way. I got back in and checked my maps and decided forward was not an option.

At least 10 cars were piled up behind me trying to get by and honking their horns. I had just decided it was time to call 911 and get some assistance when 2 police cruisers pulled up. I’m not sure if they saw the traffic flow stop or if someone called . Initially they wanted to get all the cars turned around and have me back out . I told them that I still had to deliver and I recommended they go up and block the oncoming lane and let me go that way. They determined that was a good course of action and I got a police escort all the way to my stop. Once I got to my stop I called safety and my fm to let them know what had happened just to cover myself and let them know police were involved but there was no accident or damage. “10-4 , you are in the clear. Keep truckin” Been a hell of a day. This refrigerated account is easier as far as the unload process but 9-12 stops a day instead of my 3-4 is ALOT more backing and chances for mishap. My body is happy for the break but I will be ready to get back to business as usual next week!

Fm:

Dispatcher, Fleet Manager, Driver Manager

The primary person a driver communicates with at his/her company. A dispatcher can play many roles, depending on the company's structure. Dispatchers may assign freight, file requests for home time, relay messages between the driver and management, inform customer service of any delays, change appointment times, and report information to the load planners.

Nice! Since I usually have to fuel at Pilots/Flying J’s I like to stop at a Denny’s if they have one and get breakfast. I order when I hit the pumps and pickup in 15 minutes.

That was a tight turn around and back. On more of a slant than the picture shows
