I've seen trucks blown over in WY and some were even parked on ramps. Winds are nothing to mess with!

I'm currently down for a reset in Tallapoosa Georgia, they keep interrupting all channels on the arial tv with tornado warnings. Kinda sucks but at least I got some good bar-b-que if it hits. I'm guessing this is because of the hurricane down there. The worse part is the rain, the dog still has to go. So far I haven't seen any high winds or tornadoes, just rain but then again I have no idea what county I'm in so it may not even be here. I feel for those driving in the winds as that's one force you cannot control. Stay safe drivers.
When a violation by either a driver or company is confirmed, an out-of-service order removes either the driver or the vehicle from the roadway until the violation is corrected.

Tallapoosa, GA is a both a city and a county.

The mom/pop truck stop at exit 5 has a good restrauant and chrome shop. We loaded out of Deer Park and got out before it arrived friday. We did hit alot of traffic with the evacaution orders in La. I felt very blessed with that timing.

Yep, that's the one I'm at. Dont have much use for the chrome shop though. I dont even wash this truck much less chrome it out. Luckily it got really calm after I posted. No more rain, nothing. This place always has tons of open parking. The Pilot next door often fills up but not this one. Neither one has much room for walking a dog though, much less letting her off leash to chase a ball.

I shut down just West of Baton Rouge around 1500 yesterday at a small Pilot. Winds were starting to pick up and my load was only 12000lbs. Woke up at midnight to check wind conditions. The power was out at the truck stop. It was pretty eerie. All you could see were the marker lights of the surrounding trucks forming a large rectangle bordered by an amber glow.
A little after 0300 I saw the gusts had settled to below 30mph for the most part, so I headed West on i-10.
Wind conditions were not bad at all. I passed a few overturned trucks West of the Atchafalaya Bridge. I arrived at Lake Charles sometime after 0400. There were 4 overturned trucks on the WB side of the bridge. 4...ON THE BRIDGE!
Seeing that sent a chill up my spine. I couldn't help imagining how easily they could have been blown over the side of the bridge. Wind is nothing to mess with. Nothing drives that point home more than seeing the results with your own eyes.
