Packrat I can't wait to connect! This forum has already been so helpful. I can't even imagine how great it would be to get tips and suggestions over the phone or face-to-face!

Well im a woman so I can talk A LOT more than him. Lol. I have hundreds of Youtube videos and even blog articles on this site about teaming and sleep patterns you discuss on your other thread.

CFI is one company that does not team train...schneider doesn'tt either but both programs are short compared to the others

Rainy, I love your blog posts! The myths of team driving entry was terrific. I have zero interest in team driving once my training is complete; it just so happens that some of the companies that interest me the most (especially Wilson / Jim Palmer - my first choice) utilize team driving as a step of their training. With each passing day I feel like they offer more and more of what I'm looking for in an employer, so I'd absolutely be willing to make the sacrifice for just a few short weeks or months of training.

So guess what! A recruiter from Prime just reached out to me and it turns out the reason my application was rejected, was because I indicated that I couldn’t test for my CDL permit in my home state until December. We are going to reconnect when I get closer to my test date and she will advise me on when to reapply. So it turns out it IS possible to apply too early! Thanks again to all for your help!

CDL:

Commercial Driver's License (CDL)

A CDL is required to drive any of the following vehicles:

  • Any combination of vehicles with a gross combined weight rating (GCWR) of 26,001 or more pounds, providing the gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of the vehicle being towed is in excess of 10,000 pounds.
  • Any single vehicle with a GVWR of 26,001 or more pounds, or any such vehicle towing another not in excess of 10,000 pounds.
  • Any vehicle, regardless of size, designed to transport 16 or more persons, including the driver.
  • Any vehicle required by federal regulations to be placarded while transporting hazardous materials.
