The FM or driver personnel can normally fax it to a truck stop of your choice. With COVID and them working from home I dont know if this is more difficult.
You may be able to call driver line up in Sprimo cause they fax alcohol permits to NJ shippers for us. They probably have access to your CDL.
Then request a route home from the FM.
A CDL is required to drive any of the following vehicles:
The customer who is shipping the freight. This is where the driver will pick up a load and then deliver it to the receiver or consignee.
And CALL AHEAD to try and MAKE AN APPOINTMENT AT YOUR DMV.
With C-19 and a lot of offices being CLOSED - it's not "business as usual". Check your state DMV for REQUIRED DOCUMENTATION for getting a license (or replacement license), and make sure you HAVE IT IN HAND. Passports tend to work best - though I have used my Carry Permit as a secondary (State Issued) form of photo ID.
When you get the new one - TAKE A PHOTO OF IT to keep on your phone (and/or cloud account). I had to send a copy of ID to a LEO Agency for verification - the one in my wallet was a little worn - and they wouldn't accept it. But the high resolution scan I did of it, when I first got it - was perfect.
Which brings me to - ALWAYS MAKE COPIES OF CRITICAL DOCUMENTS. DOT Med Card - License (vehicle reg's, insurance cards, etc.). ALL my critical stuff is in a secure cloud account. If you cloud your stuff - TURN ON TWO FACTOR AUTHENTICATION - which can prevent the account from being HACKED.
I did a run through my filing cabinet a few years ago - and SCANNED EVERYTHING (divorce papers, military documents, etc.) and clouded them. My house could burn down - and everything is still up there somewhere.

I wish I could make an appointment in NJ. The lines start at 4am and people are paying $100 per hour for others to wait in the line for them while they go shower and pick up the kids etc. If you are not in line by noon you are sent home. And it is chaos.
Check out NJ DMV lines on Youtube. Most are months old but it was the same when I was home in Nov.

It took 2 hours to wait to take my permit in PA. Luckily in PA, they give you buzzers. So you don’t have to stand in line. You can wait in your car. Good Luck!

Well I guess it's obvious they have a copy of all driver's CDLs. But what's the standard practice if you lose your card out on the road? Do you automatically have to go back to your home state (to DMV) before you can drive again? Or do they fax a photocopy as a temporary replacement?
I have not asked my company yet because I want to look a little more in the truck first. A little stressed out though. Couldn't have happened at a worse time.
