And don't forget that 10 hours is 10 hours. Whatever duty cycle you are on stays with the original limits and does not "adjust" if it goes through 2am. Hint: take 1 hour off your in-head calculation.
Examples:
10 hour break starting at 8pm will end at 7am (not 6)
14 hour shift starts at 5pm, then you are done at 8pm (not 7)
Your ELD knows for sure.
The oddball thing to me has always been going into AZ from the east, because they're now on Pacific Time.
You can leave Amarillo (Central Time), cross New Mexico (Mountain Time), and stop in Winslow, AZ. Three time zones in one shift!
I think that daylight savings time changes twice a year are a pain in the azz. Either leave it as it always was without it or make it a permanent change. It is too confusing and troublesome for whatever gain it is suppossed to do. Just my 2 cents as being retired it doesn't matter to my lifestyle.
Truck drivers who regularly pick up from or deliver to the shipping ports will often be required to carry a TWIC card.
Your TWIC is a tamper-resistant biometric card which acts as both your identification in secure areas, as well as an indicator of you having passed the necessary security clearance. TWIC cards are valid for five years. The issuance of TWIC cards is overseen by the Transportation Security Administration and the Department of Homeland Security.
Cancel Culture will probably get rid of it, or it will get tied into the Great New Disaster somehow.
Here's a better idea, and it won't take an Act Of Congress to pull this off. Also, this won't affect the trucking industry in the slightest (well, almost).
If every business and government office would only set their business hours BACK one hour, the deed would be done. If some sort of office was open 8am to 6pm, just change the hours to 7-5, and voilĂ , saving the daylight year 'round!

Spring forward ... fall back. Not hard.
I love it because I hate to deliver stupid **** to residential customers after nightfall.
"You mean you can't deliver my 2,000lbs of mulch to my mountaintop home tonight? Why not?"
