Thanks Scott I will definitely reach out in the future. Dave did my upgrade. Really really nice guy!! Taught me a few things as well!

Congratulations! Just so you know there is a serious rental car shortage in the country. Since there is no guarantee that a student will upgrade, they can't reserve one to far in advance.

Good luck with everything. If you have any questions or need help with anything feel free to call or text.

No the learning starts.

Who did your upgrade, Dave or Rose?

Yes Dave and Rose have many years of experience and take everything, especially safety seriously. Dave can cut up too.

Hey Nathan,

Glad to see you made it through! Sounds like you may have gotten some family time in too, hope all is going well!

I may be in the same boat as you as far as having to go to Secretary of State when I upgrade so I can get my actual CDL from them. Have you been there yet to get yours? If so, how long did it take?

I’m on day 13 with my finisher and everything is going well. Haven’t had any real issues and am getting along pretty well with him. We’ve been to Topeka, Seattle, Port Townsend, back to Ohio today and off to Pennsylvania tomorrow with a couple short places in between and so far so good!

Maybe catch you on the road sometime, good luck!

CDL:

Commercial Driver's License (CDL)

A CDL is required to drive any of the following vehicles:

  • Any combination of vehicles with a gross combined weight rating (GCWR) of 26,001 or more pounds, providing the gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of the vehicle being towed is in excess of 10,000 pounds.
  • Any single vehicle with a GVWR of 26,001 or more pounds, or any such vehicle towing another not in excess of 10,000 pounds.
  • Any vehicle, regardless of size, designed to transport 16 or more persons, including the driver.
  • Any vehicle required by federal regulations to be placarded while transporting hazardous materials.

Hey Scott,

Joe aka “Santa Actual” is my trainer.

It’s also been nice that I get to learn on the new Omnitracs so I’ll be familiar from the get go with the new software.

Great news Chris. Who is your trainer?

I think I have met him. That's great that you're learning the Omnitracks.

I just spoke with a CFI recruiter. I asked her if they have driver facing cameras. She insisted that they DO NOT have driver facing cameras, only outward facing cameras.
