My truck profile is set correctly it's more glitches in the system, constantly shutting off, messages not sending or being received, freezing up, navigation freaking out in certain areas especially Phoenix etc. Tried doing a hard reset on it a few times thinking that it just needed a reboot. Didnt help at all
You might have a bad one. Call Garmin tech support.
I work for a small little company, I know this page is biased towards that but I like it, I feel alot more comfortable then at a mega carrier. They are extremely easy going, getting really good miles, have a nice truck, and get to be home every 2-3 weeks. I can't complain.
Glad it's working for ya, man!! Best wishes~!

ps: Big Scott could be right. My dude got a 'lemon' years ago. It was a TomTom .. just for the name he bought it, methinks!! LoL. Got a Garmin now, works great out the box.

Did you update it using a laptop or PC. I had to plug mine directly into my laptop and update the software and maps. It did it twice for each of them.
Truck drivers who regularly pick up from or deliver to the shipping ports will often be required to carry a TWIC card.
Your TWIC is a tamper-resistant biometric card which acts as both your identification in secure areas, as well as an indicator of you having passed the necessary security clearance. TWIC cards are valid for five years. The issuance of TWIC cards is overseen by the Transportation Security Administration and the Department of Homeland Security.

I have a dzel 580 and OTR 700. They work fine. I am very happy with them. You need to set it up properly. Make sure you have your truck settings put in correctly. There are different route settings you can use. My OTR 700 likes to avoid certain areas on major interstates because it thinks there is a 30,000 pound weight limit. They aren't there. I keep reporting them to Garmin. This is why it's important to know where you're going.
OTR:
Over The Road
OTR driving normally means you'll be hauling freight to various customers throughout your company's hauling region. It often entails being gone from home for two to three weeks at a time.
Interstate:
Commercial trade, business, movement of goods or money, or transportation from one state to another, regulated by the Federal Department Of Transportation (DOT).
