What Company Sponsored CDL School has a Truck Simulator to train on? Does anybody what company that has cdl training has a truck simulator? Thank you. Please Help.

CDL:

Commercial Driver's License (CDL)

A CDL is required to drive any of the following vehicles:

  • Any combination of vehicles with a gross combined weight rating (GCWR) of 26,001 or more pounds, providing the gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of the vehicle being towed is in excess of 10,000 pounds.
  • Any single vehicle with a GVWR of 26,001 or more pounds, or any such vehicle towing another not in excess of 10,000 pounds.
  • Any vehicle, regardless of size, designed to transport 16 or more persons, including the driver.
  • Any vehicle required by federal regulations to be placarded while transporting hazardous materials.

Prime does! They are set up as automatic transmissions. However u will still practice on the pad. And of course have a road test.

It might help if we understood your motivation. Even companies that have simulators only use them for certain limited training. Your real training will be in a big truck.

Prime uses them as evaluation tools. They want to see if you are reading signs and checking mirrors. Stuff like that.

I know for a fact that Schneider's training center in AZ does.

Knight does, but only in an additional week of training after you get your CDL.

Used them for a couple of training scenarios at Roehl. They were a little glitchy and caused motion sickness in a couple students, me being one of them.
