Brand new and the senior driver, too. That's something.
Hope this works out for you, Jamie.
I’m only in a year and I kick the idea around, maybe after another year. My kids are still young, but I’m currently living in my truck so it’s tricky. Long story LOL
There’s many options around me in Jax but finding one that is honest is something else.
Good luck with your search!
Haya, CM !! I love your avatar, btw. Strong. Love that. Agreed.
Sorry for a 'deviation/hijack ..' but ~ are you still with May??? Have you looked into Armellini, in Jax? Used to know folks there.
I grew up in B'town, Manatee County; had a few pals that drove for them. Then again, times change. I ran hotshot for years, for Gen Prop and Miami Prop .. Bradenton and Miami. Our yard was right behind Tropicana, in B'town! Had a few clients up your way, but wasn't 'my' usual route. Fun days, though. I miss Florida . . . to a small degree, haha!
My late ex drove for LCT (Lester Coggins) in Okahumpka (sp?) .. and moved me to Ohio, and got on with Valley Transport, here. Could be 'outdated,' info, but .. the 'fam' of the 'Arm' supposedly take care of their drivers.
Best to ALL ~! (BTW: Lemme (us!) know your opinion of them.... thanks!)

One thing to be aware of about local (day cab) driving. If you're going to your home terminal every night, you are likely on a set start time. The hours of service allow them to push you to 14 every day. When I was local, they did. Your outfit may not have the load volume / expectstion of 12hrs plus, and thats a good thing. I didnt argue, because I rode for the brand. But when you go off duty at 14, and have to be back in 10, and have to manage a drive home, eat, sleep, S-cubed in there, it can get stressful.
Make sure you have a discussion with those who are important to you, and to whom you are important, about those potentials. If you're the innaugural driver for a new account, the service expectations are high, and the reputation rewards are as well. Good luck in your decision.
A facility where trucking companies operate out of, or their "home base" if you will. A lot of major companies have multiple terminals around the country which usually consist of the main office building, a drop lot for trailers, and sometimes a repair shop and wash facilities.
A tractor which does not have a sleeper berth attached to it. Normally used for local routes where drivers go home every night.
Electric APUs have started gaining acceptance. These electric APUs use battery packs instead of the diesel engine on traditional APUs as a source of power. The APU's battery pack is charged when the truck is in motion. When the truck is idle, the stored energy in the battery pack is then used to power an air conditioner, heater, and other devices
Well it has been over a week since I switched to this Kelloggs account, I'm running less miles since I only work about 5 days a week and the way the loads work out, no way I can run more really so expected to make less money but that's okay for now. I didn't get the chance to get by the house this week yet, but last week I got by the house 3 times, and then my two days off. So going pretty good so far.

I signed the paperwork today to switch to another dedicated account that is ran out of my home terminal , it will be 5 days on the road, two full days off and sometime getting by the house during the week, it’s running dedicated for Kelloggs DC to DC from my understanding. The account is apparently so new, I’m the first driver on the account.
