I'd be demanding a new truck Monday. A month off the road for breakdowns with a company as huge as Schneider would be unacceptable to me.

Sound wisdom, Mr PackRat.

“Sound wisdom”. What movie???

"Sound wisdom" I think was a line from Jeremiah Johnson in a brief conversation between Jeremiah and Del Gue.

Yeah, this situation has a lot of moving parts, Schneider’s medical arm is First Source Solutions. They are like the bureaucracy from hell. Since I had these things: Doctors visit for yearly Medicare checkup, flu shot, booster shot, DOT physical, I got caught up in their paperwork net. It’s one paper to obtain and fax. Then another, than another. I think I have everything faxed in, but then the holidays start and the office people are off work. These are people who decide if a person doing one of the most dangerous jobs in America can continue to job. Their job is to keep from dozing off, falling off their office chairs and hitting their heads on the desk on the way down.

Hopefully I can get this done and over with on Monday.

DOT:

Department Of Transportation

A department of the federal executive branch responsible for the national highways and for railroad and airline safety. It also manages Amtrak, the national railroad system, and the Coast Guard.

State and Federal DOT Officers are responsible for commercial vehicle enforcement. "The truck police" you could call them.

OOS:

When a violation by either a driver or company is confirmed, an out-of-service order removes either the driver or the vehicle from the roadway until the violation is corrected.

Not really. Quite a few of the "newest generation" on here for more than several months generally make my head hurt. I spent too much time on here last year. I don't moderate anything.
